Sadly, the vast majority of American taxpayers disagree with me.

The will of the Vast Majority is the Law.

But Positive Rights remain an abstract Ideal of a truly humane civilization.

That's true, especially when you're forced to help those who can help themselves. But those who are truly helpless, we as a society should help. Preferably by voluntary charity of course.

Isaiah Berlin distinguished "positive" freedom, the right to exercise political power, from "negative" freedom, the right to be left alone by others exercising political power. Read more @ Positive & Negative Liberties

I used to abhor slavery. However, I found out on some Dr Gates / family tree show on PBS that Micheal Moores ancestors were white slaves. The look on his face was like hed either had his buttflaps pulled over his head and forced to kiss his own ass or told to shave his ass and walk backwards to improve his looks. Moore= hypocrite. Pandered to the OWS " fleabaggers" even though he has a net worth of $50 million (and suing for more). He wrinkled his fat face and said " who were those people"? Lol.

The problem in our society is the same point in geometry that determines the price of a share of stock. You have A. Perception.B. Reality. / the intersectiin of those two determines price.
Movion on..socially. A. Perception / " rich arent paying their fair share.B. Reality. The top 20% are paying 87% of the federal income revenue. So. They arent paying their fair share. They are paying much more. Rational ideaolgy cannot be based on flawed notions/ misperceptions / half truths/ dis/mis info etc.
Broken down into numerical logic it appears cold. Ironically , it is a very cold world indeed. Im so sorry. I want to fix the world. I am only one man, I wish I could.

No -- this is the definition of Democracy. The will of a large majority is the Law.

    The Law is the Law.

Technically, and regretfully you have two types of democracy, one is direct, majoritarian, and the other representative. Typically the former is called democracy as well, and the latter a republic. See Madison's Federalist 10.

Perhaps I do not know Political Science. Churchill understood that Democracy has many problems, but still supported it

Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…
