The Battle of Yorktown was sort of a success for America. But now USA is much worse off then Australia, Canada, NZ.

How, exactly, do you define "much worse off"?

Is the persistent resistance of socialism--even "democratic" socialism--a sign of being "much worse off," in your opinion?

We do. It is free market capitalism. Where it is tried all people benefit.

Perhaps it is the best macroeconomic system.

Unfortunately, many people are unable to survive without Welfare State.

Canada and Australia have many more guarantees for all people living there -- even those who can not produce.

Unfortunately most American taxpayers would prefer not to share. The Will of a Large Majority is the Law.

Even if a Post-Scarcity Society, where no on will be poor, is impossible now, it is still a distant ideal. Hopefully it will be a Global Reality by the end of the century.

Both Totalitarian Communism and Late Stage Capitalism seem to be excessive. Scandinavia and Canada combine the best of both systems and rich a compromise.

Without food, shelter, and medical care all other rights seem meaningless.
