What are you even talking about?
No; the US constitution worked for people who don't believe in living in a theocracy. What you're really talking about here is the and passing of the Americana WASP culture, nothing else.

And today we have, among other signs of decadence, mass shootings.

Why we do is the topic, not whatever you want to try to change it to.

For an atheist you sure talk a lot about restoring God. That is of course the thesis of the article "how the liberals destroyed God".

Nonsense: we stopped burning people at the stake a long time ago. A radical social engineering project of destabilization of working people in this country is what has brought out the fight against theocracy and WASP culture. God is doing fine; those who use religion to abuse others - is not.

You said something funny about "Protestantism" being linked to liberals... You'll have to go back to Luther and Calvin for that. The liberal has always been about freeing the mind from the constraints of the past.

That has nothing to do with God in any sense. I read your source article: it's about Jerry Falwell type "family values" and how "liberals" have destroyed that.

How the liberal project from the Enlightenment on replaced God, family and community with the state.

As stated many times in this thread liberal stretches from classical to modern. I'm not hung up on just the modern meaning of the term.

For that matter, WASP post-dates the Enlightenment. So, no, the thread is not about that, much as you'd like to derail it.

And, right, the P in WASP is Protestant, which is part of the liberal project going back to Luther and Calvin.

You're correct. It has nothing to do with God, no one claimed it did. The topic is our relationships with God, family and community and how we've lost that.
