This is the HUGE problem that most people do not understand.
I, YOU, ANYONE, can buy a firearm at a gun show in Virginia with NO background check. None, notta, zip, zilch.
I'll bet you anything you want a felon can purchase a firearm at a gun show in Virginia.

Nope, not every sale at a Virginia gun show requires a background check.

Actually at gun shows in Virginia only licensed dealers are required to conduct a background check. Police are required to be on hand to do the checks. A private seller is not required to do the same.

It is amazing how uninformed people are about how easy it is for criminals, felons, murderers, thieves, can purchase a firearm in some states at gun shows. It's an easy source to find a firearm.
Yes it's illegal for them to do so and their attempt to make a purchase would be thwarted at most of the vendors at a Virginia gun show, but not all. A private seller does not require a background check even at a gun show. You just have to find the private seller table and cash will do the job from there.

    It doesn't happen. Ever.

Is this all just wool to be pulled over the public's eyes so they feel better when the government "cracks down" on "unregulated" gun show sales?

    I'm just not that bright.

Absolutely NOT false. Handguns may only be purchased in the state of legal residence. You cannot go across state lines and legally buy a handgun.

It does if it a licensed dealer. Private, person to person sales are legal
