Gun laws have never controlled gun abuses or possession and never will. All they have ever done is make people jump through hoops for the dubious honor of being taxed for their right to possess them.

For the first 30-40 years they were passed, gun laws were contentious but probably mostly, naively well intended. They are not anymore. Those laws are a dangerous political gambit that is growing in breadth, complexity and cost to satisfy the government appetite for oppression and revenue. The best that can be said about them is that they are an illegal government shakedown of citizens. The end game is obviously much more sinister.

Serious question to those of you who support further gun laws. Why would new gun law ABCD work when the existing ones don't?
Lummy, don't you think that there are some "gun laws" that DO make sense and should be retained? "Gun laws" is a pretty big, inclusive term. Some minimum age for owning one, for example?
