2020 Dems embrace federal gun buyback program in wake of mass shootings

DES MOINES, Iowa -- A growing number of 2020 Democratic presidential candidates are calling for a federal gun buyback program to reduce the estimated 400 million guns owned by civilians in America -- but the idea faces resistance from gun rights groups who accuse Democrats of trying to "demonize firearms." In the wake of the deadly El Paso and Dayton mass shootings, some in the crowded Democratic field have released plans -- or voiced support -- for allowing gun owners to turn over their weapons to the government and get money in return.

Outlaw the psychoactive drugs at the root of the problem.

Here's the hand democrats presently hold: 20 candidates who are certifiably nuts. Whatever that bag of squirrels wants to do is just plain stupid.

I don't want my taxes going to someone who wants to sell their guns. They should take them to a gun show.

They may get 1250 or so turned in - 25 a state - of the guns that nobody wants. I think if they gave a Tax Credit for the value of the guns they'd get more response but still just junk guns.

A fair number of those would be stolen. That is one of the problems with these gun buybacks... anonymity. If you want to dispose of a stolen gun, why not give it to the government to dispose of it? They will not only pay you for it, they won't even ask your name or where you got it.

A federal buyback program is a great way for riminals to get rid of their murder weapons.

There should be a special fund set up for democrat candidates to by coffin nails because they're going to need them.

Oh dear, I hope I haven't said anything politically incorrect.
