When talking about shooting in "controlled pairs", I am not saying two shots will be enough. It might be. It might not be. What I am saying is that one shot is seldom enough, so we need to get into the habit of engaging the threat with at least two rounds. Every time the defender pulls the trigger, he pulls it twice. That doesn't mean you fire one controlled pair and stop. Stats show pretty clearly that in reality, most gun fights end in less than 4 rounds fired.

What is interesting is that if you read any of the post shooting interviews with these guys who dump 15 rounds or so into a body, when asked how many shots they fired, most will say they shot two or three. They don't remember squeezing the trigger fifteen times. If you tell them they fired fifteen times, you usually get a response like "No way..." until they see the video.
You have my total agreement, what everyone who has never been in combat or in Law Enforcement forget is

Soldier, Police Officer=Human being and humans all have the same fight and flight senses and the same emotions,

Fear of personal harm or injury and your adrenaline Shoots to the sky and takes over. Time after time officers asked how many rounds they fired get it wrong far more than they get it right.

    I call them auto loaders.

I have a small collection (2) of antique muzzle loader revolvers. Ive never fired them. I’m not sure how to load them.

T, I'd really appreciate it if you'd stop being so petty in situations like this. You don't like me - fine, whatever. We've had disagreements in other threads, on other topics, and you quite obviously carry a grudge about that...but when you pop up and try to turn something I write in a joking manner to my long-time acquaintance Cletus into a claim that I'm "unfamiliar with firearms", that's just childish and, quite frankly, stupid. Try to keep in mind, if you're able to, that you and I have also had discussions where we agreed on things - gun-related issues being one of them - and even Thank-ed one another's posts. (In other words, don't be a d*ck.)

The m1s were ended in 1959 when the m14 was introduced to the military. So you are more than correct there are tons of guns out there no one knows that arent part of any count.\

I need to clarify when they were hanging on the wall they were rendered inoperable. They couldnt be just taken off the wall loaded and fired. They were worked on before being brought to the range
Did they take the firing pins out to make them inoperable?

Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.
