    F-16 sale

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-u...-idUSKCN1V61IY

    This after tank and Stinger missiles in July. F-16's will improve Taiwan's air force and ability to defend its' airspace. This another effort by Trump, in my opinion, to get other nations to defend themselves rather than rely on the United States. And this sale is an 8 billion dollar sale. Enormous. Plus anyone who knows anything about parts, engineers, software, this deal will include US and Lockheed Martin personnel working with Taiwan.

    This receives Neocon approval.

    It also highlights the pure ignorance on these issues, Pete. If you're Beijing, this Hong Kong unrest combined with Taiwan receiving 8 billion on fighter aircraft is unsettling at best. While the trade dispute continues, Trump continues to oppose their expansion in the China Seas and outright arm their enemies. Concerning trade talks, these actions will hardly be noted when a final settlement is reached, the media will convince us that Trump backed down or put the US in a dangerous or untenable position. IT is often our adversary being isolated and penned in.

    China is seeing both European and US companies leaving for fairer playing ground. You're going to start seeing "Made in Vietnam" on the items you Amazon. https://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapo.../#424cb91815bf

    If you're looking at your economic growth. Looking at companies leaving your country. Looking at the growth of your competitors. Looking at unrest in Hong Kong.....and now a Taiwan Air Force that is flying not World War One Spads……..they're flying US F-16s. That just overnight significantly increases Taiwan's capacity to defend itself. All of this won't be discussed on these pages Pete. The reality of what's going on will be hidden by media reports...and then we'll watch all of our media puppets in here repeat the same error and misguided opinions.

    Your right. The "media" is not in the business of reporting facts or news.

    @PJL

    PJL, that post #3 I'd like you to visit the middle paragraph. I was making an argument in support of a broader argument that both Europe and the US were pulling assets out of China. What I then provided was a link to source that argument. See that? And that was in support of a larger argument concerning the sale of US F-16's to Taiwan....and I provided a link to start the thread as well. DO you see how that works? This way, should one of the forum members ask, gee Ransom who told you that, where did you get your news, I can point to the link provided, where I got my information from.

    You would do well to heed this lesson, you're struggling....and I'm trying to help you.

    Cheap $#@! manufacturing was already leaving China because their middle class no longer will work for slave wages. The tariffs only sped that up and extended it into the non-cheap $#@! market. China is really playing with fire. They are usually good at long-term planning, but are now in danger of becoming a backwater in global trade.
