That's right, I don't think it's a civilians obligation to pay for something the state is harassing them over, especially considering many cases are nonsensical, flawed, or avoidable.

Well, you are all wrong. I don't know any lawyer that doesn't donate significant time doing pro bono work. Most bar associations strongly encourage it and most firms require it. Pro Bono means "for free". It is all about the rule of law for the good and ethical lawyers. Yes, yes, I know -- XL doesn't like the American Rule where everybody pays their own lawyer. In 32 years, I've had clients crying thanking me for helping them countless numbers of times, I've given away scores of hours, represented losing cases on principle and tried to do what's right. There's bad in every profession, but I won't make excuses for them.

Regardless, I won't convince any of you and you won't convince any of me. We'll toil away here doing the best we can for our clients within the bounds of ethics. I hope none of you ever need a lawyer.

Would you be surprised to discover many of us believe government workers are in the category you dislike? I often wondered how someone could make it home for 4 PM when the work day ends at 4:30 PM. Back roads, maybe?

I still hopped on my computer once my meds kicked in and did some "pro - bono" work for the american people (minus you). For some reason you have an issue with me. I'm not sure why you just don't skip over my comments and ignore me. It's really not that hard if I disgust you so much.

It's about winning and making the most money possible. It's a perversion of what justice and the justice system is supposed to be. And while they reap the benefits, this all wouldn't be possible without our corrupt state enabling and allowing it to happen. Lawyers should be few and far between, and their services should only be needed in times of extreme necessity. But the government has criminalized anything and everything, and the way trials actually play out is a joke that has nothing to do with guilt or innocence. In reality, if one is innocent, most of the time a lawyer shouldn't even be needed, as the burden is supposed to be on the state to prove guilt, but trials and American law don't play out like that. It's all about lying, semantics, appeals to emotion, personality, corruption, etc, things that have nothing to do with the actual substance of guilt or innocence.

Most lawyers go through a career without ever doing criminal law.

Concerning your headache, have you tried changing your diet to reduce the chronic systemic inflammation that is probably the source of your discomfort?
