Imagine getting into your wayback machine and visiting another nation where hate grew after a particular person assumed power. Not hard to do if you know any history at all. But 'there are good people on both sides', even those who drive cars into other humans, right? Sorry folks, but hate and evil are deep in the human psyche and when a leader condones it in any way it gives hate room to breath and act. We are in those times now for the conscious human.

My brother in law is fond of saying he wants to be cremated -- have his ashes turned into a brick -- and then have the brick dropped on the White House.

People are full of hot air -- they say things they don't mean. Things to make others think they're tough, or thing said in the heat of anger to show others that they're not patsies.

I have a bit of an issue with punishing folks just for spouting off.

But, that's just me.

I didn't say I agreed with the laws. I was merely pointing out that laws are being passed that will allow for your arrest if you make any statement even in a joking manner that can in anyway be construed as a threat. Get on an airplane and say "That movie I saw last night was a real bomb" and see how long it takes to be escorted off the plane and held. Unless you are a big star or public figure if you say you are going to murder the president you will be arrested.

I certainly don't agree but it is a fact of life we are now faced with thought control.

I have had Midcan on ignore for quite some time. Occasionally I will open his post to see if I was over-reacting to him. Then I see one like the above and realize I am over-reacting to worrying about it.
