It's not difficult to admit I'm a Ronald Reagan, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump conservative Republican. We make up most of America. We make up most of the Republican Party, although there is a sizeable portion of Never Trumpers in the party, even today. Every time our policies are implemented, the economy soars, people are safer in their homes, foreign policy is sane and life is better.
Modern day conservatism rejects identity politics of the left and the tiny minority of the extreme right.
I personally do not believe there are independents. It has been my experience that they are mostly liberals who do not like the word "liberal." Yes, I know; independents like to act superior by picking and choosing different sides on every issue:
"Yes, I believe in balanced budgets but the government should pay for abortions." Stuff like that.
There's nothing superior about refusing to take a stand with a party. It certainly doesn't translate into votes for a presidential candidate.
While the establishment Republicans were whining about Trump's first presidential campaign, and how he didn't kowtow to the left for purposes of attracting the mythical "independents," he was busy shoring up his conservative base and going after disaffected registered Democrats.
I'm sorry, folks. There are no moderates at this, or any other forum. This place is for partisans. Moderates can't make up their minds on lunch.
