It's not difficult to admit I'm a Ronald Reagan, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump conservative Republican. We make up most of America. We make up most of the Republican Party, although there is a sizeable portion of Never Trumpers in the party, even today. Every time our policies are implemented, the economy soars, people are safer in their homes, foreign policy is sane and life is better.

Modern day conservatism rejects identity politics of the left and the tiny minority of the extreme right.

I personally do not believe there are independents. It has been my experience that they are mostly liberals who do not like the word "liberal." Yes, I know; independents like to act superior by picking and choosing different sides on every issue:

"Yes, I believe in balanced budgets but the government should pay for abortions." Stuff like that.

There's nothing superior about refusing to take a stand with a party. It certainly doesn't translate into votes for a presidential candidate.

While the establishment Republicans were whining about Trump's first presidential campaign, and how he didn't kowtow to the left for purposes of attracting the mythical "independents," he was busy shoring up his conservative base and going after disaffected registered Democrats.

I'm sorry, folks. There are no moderates at this, or any other forum. This place is for partisans. Moderates can't make up their minds on lunch.

Sure there is. Voting (D) or (R) is voting to kill the USD. It is the spending, stupid (used generally).

Or IMO are so disgusted with both political parties they don't want to be a part of the hypocrisy both parties represent.

Think 3rd party for 2024 folks. Clean up America.

Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.

Tulsi, but let's be real she is not a real Democrat. The Democratic party rejects her, as does the Republican. I am thinking after the DNC bumps her that she will switch to Independent. I am most likely wrong. But if she does end up Independent I will vote for her. I don't choose whether I like someone based on what party they are in but who they are and what they stand for. That means something to me.

    I am for ending war.

Conservative Democrat. In other words, I have no party.
...and i do not see that as a bad thing.

There are corporate Democrats who are no different than Republicans.

I have encountered the extreme right in person at gun shows, and have encountered the extreme left on-line only.
I think they know better than to behave as they do out in the general public.
The ones from the extreme right that behaved that way have people slowly back away from them, make no sudden moves, and avoid eye contact.
    A good policy for both.
