I was invited to a nudist facility up north of Phoenix about fifteen years ago. Very weird experience. You spend your whole life making sure that you don't appear in public naked, and there you are taking all your clothes off in the parking lot and walking up to the swimming pool. It goes against all your programming. And yes, there were actually very few people there - aside from myself, of course - whom one would genuinely find, well, let's say "visually pleasing" in that setting.

Once again you prove yourself to be NO snowflake. LOL That was brave of you for sure. I could never do that. Not just about myself getting naked, but I would be freaked out looking at other naked people. Good times. :) Good thing the people were visually pleasing or else you might have walked away with an entirely different impression. LoL

I don't get the attraction of full nudity in a non-intimate situation.

Born in midcentury Las Vegas, the American all-you-can-eat (or AYCE) buffet was all about excess from the start. The phrase itself can be an issue for proprietors, insofar as it sounds like a challenge.
The buffet where I used to live has closed down now, but they used to have an all you can eat buffet. They had a huge problem with people paying the breakfast buffet price and staying until lunch and eating right through that.

I was telling Lummy the other day about a diner in Millington, Tennessee that I used to frequent back in the day - '80s, I think? - where every Wednesday evening they had all the fried clam strips you could eat for a low price. I can't find fried clam strips in Phoenix to save my life, except for Long John Silver's, which gives you a tiny little overpriced box and then they suck.

Greasy and over salted? A few years ago my husband spotted a Long John Silver's and said it reminded him of being a kid so he wanted to get some. He walked away severely disappointed.

I have a theory that everything on the menu is actually made out of exactly the same stuff, and they just cut and fry it into different shapes.

Speaking of diners... my husband LOVES diners. I think they're okay. When I go out to eat, I generally want it to be a bit more upscale and have a drink with dinner. Struck a good compromise a while back and ate at a old fashioned diner that had a fully stocked bar. Not bad.
