I usually notice fall is coming because there is a shift in the air. The intensity of the heat changes. The sun feels different. I noticed it a few weeks ago.
We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.

I like late summer/early fall, before the rains come. A bit of a nip in the air in the morning but comfortable in the afternoon and cool enough at night that you don't need air conditioning.

July brought us triple digits but August has been mostly lower 90s and now, mid- and lower-80s.

I love the colors of fall and the softness of the Autumn air. I love the sound of leaves rustling and the thought of snuggling beneath a feather comforter when the temps turn chilly. Not a football fan, so you'll have to enjoy that one yourself, but fall brings with it a feeling of family and togetherness.

Wait -- what's the matter with me? Family and togetherness always erupts into trouble.

We do get some beautiful fall colors here, the bus tours will begin late next month.

It's nice to have seasons. There is something to love about all of them.

I am in southern California. This has been the coolest summer in my memory. Late August and early September are usually very warm. Not this year. Naturally there's no fall bite in the air.

For my friend in Florida, although the temps are vastly different the implications are different too. For them, sure they'll miss the daylight but they will not miss the daily sauna that is summer in Florida.
For us , despite actually enjoying the early fall and being ready for some football, it means that snow and ice and below zero temps, heating bills and shoveling are on the way. It gets tougher every year but we have no choice for a couple more years.

So what about you what do the early signs of fall mean to you?
There is a very short fall here, it will be summer until nov, then what they call winter here for 2 mths where its mostly over 70 during the day, we get a few days in the 40s and rarely into the 30, then its spring and thats one reason why florida has almost 20 million people and growing

I'm a believer in the hibernation response. Fall is full of energy to get ready, spring is full of energy to come awake again and then summer is mostly... gone.
