The scientific "evidence" from a 2015 study correlates a larger, more developed right amygdala with political conservatism. The right amygdala manages negative emotions like anxiety, fear, and sadness. Where it stopped being science was where one makes the jump to the conclusion that people are conservatives because they are more fearful.

An alternative view takes into consideration that a larger, more developed right amygdala also correlates quite well with people (mostly men) who take action. Large amygdalae are associated with men. Conservatism is a manly pursuit. The study did not pursue it, but I wonder if a large right amygdala is associated with other manly pursuits like volunteering for military service, police, fire, and EMS?

Small amygdalae are associated with women. And probably political liberals. That makes sense since liberalism is a gutless, feminine choice.
