The Loch Ness monster is probably just a giant eel

Researchers now believe that the mythic monster Loch Ness may not be a prehistoric vestige, but giant, meaty, delicious eels.

Scientists from New Zealand ventured to the UK and confirmed once and for all the origins of the fabled creature, ruling out the possibility of it being other (also appetizing) aquatic creatures.

As part of their quest, they examined DNA from the monsterís namesake lake in the Scottish Highlands. Their analysis showed no signs of any of the large animals once thought to be Nessie, such as the beastly looking aquatic plesiosaur ó which may have tasted similar to gamey, mild alligator meat; or, if the cavemen were lucky, like turtle (do yourself a favor and try turtle soup).

ďWe canít find any evidence of a creature thatís remotely related to that in our environmental-DNA sequence data,Ē says Professor Neil Gemmell of New Zealandís University of Otago.

ďSo, sorry, I donít think the plesiosaur idea holds up based on the data that we have obtained.Ē

I never belived in nessie. It is fun though. If anything it's someone out ther pulling some hoax. I watched scooby doo when I was little. I know the drill. Obviously it's the professor, or something like that. I always figured there is the legend, so if someone sees a duck floating off in the distance they automatically think it is Nessie. I kid you not I once took a pic of the river and I caught a duck just right and it looked exactly like the lock ness monster. But who knows right!? I could be wrong. Perhaps Nessie still lurks in the deep.

If Nessie is real then so is Champ (the sea monster in lake Champlain). Of course Champ is actually real, I've met him at Lake Monsters games and various store openings in the region
