Definitely. Hard uphill runs were giving me tendinitis in my hamstrings. I went a Vitamin D detour but finally figured out I just wasn't getting enough protein.

I just ate half a pecan pie! I thought I could eat the whole thing, but I was proved wrong!

It's a good problem to have and kind of obnoxious to talk about so I usually just chat with Peter and a couple of other fitness guys here.
I don't find it obnoxious at all. Health is one of the most important things we have. That is a pretty good amount of protein. What ever excess proteins you take in will just be excreted out in the urine anyways. They say your body can only utilize so much at a time. I found a good article on this. https://www.newhealthadvisor.org/How...dy-Absorb.html Of course you know more about this than I do. Here is one more link. https://www.quickanddirtytips.com/he...he-body-absorb

I don't eat meat so it is really hard for me to meet my protein intake. I added eggs to my diet, but my stomach really doesn't like them. But I found I can eat nuts, hemp hearts, Unfortified Nutritional yeast, and cheese, and legumes. That really works for me. For my body I have to stay away from dairy, except cheese.

I am definitely no expert that's for sure. Perhaps I am not getting enough protein either.

The way I look at it, you need 1200 calories a day. So, if I eat a piece of apple pie for lunch, that's not really any more calories than a sandwich. I don't eat big portions of anything, so pie for lunch is no biggie. I actually ate a piece of fruit pie today - for lunch. The first time in probably a year. It was store bought, so meh, but at least it wasn't especially sweet. The crust looked better than it tasted. I don't buy things like pies because hubby and I are not really dessert people and after one piece each, the rest often goes to waste. This pie was on the small side, so we'll probably eat the other half tomorrow, for lunch.

Well, in their 40s most people are looking to lose weight. People say I look good but they always qualify it with a "thin" comment. The scale won't budge for me but I'm doing leg presses like a mad man so we'll see.
I eat a lot of whole grains and legumes at work. They have a decent amount of protein. What about dairy? You eat cheese so why not Greek yogurt or Skyr? Are you lactose intolerant?

1200!? That's edging toward starvation. That's REALLY low.
