I bet Oberlin wishes they would've accepted the initial Gibson offer. Too bad, so sad.

Why would they settle for $10 million, when they've been awarded $32 million? Don't be silly, oops, too late.

Cool. So you're ready to make gun manufacturers liable for damages then?

    There's an irrelevant leap.

But, I would if they knowingly defamed someone.

No. It's excessive. I remember the BMW thing too, if I recall correctly it was a much more reasonable amount after the appeal.
Appeal courts often lower punitive damages, particularly in states (or federal district if in federal court) have juries handle the damages portion of the case.

Do you really think the road to social harmony lies at Oberlin?

I don't see where "racism" played any part whatsoever in the incident at the bakery. Oberlin is a nuthouse; always has been.

For Oberlin to claim an attempt to stop a black shoplifter racist is absolutely disgusting.

    The school should be abolished.
Too many colleges and universities now think their main mission is to crank out students with extreme progressive politics. Although a student is safe in the engineering and hard sciences departments.

You don't know what "punitive" means.

No. Are these failed logic leaps your only exercise?
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.
