A democrat controlled House has had plenty of time to do just that. Instead they focus their attention on removing Trump. That, BTW, has been just as much a waste of time and money as the Dems using their time and money updating the Immigration laws. They've accomplished neither

I think we also need to put a pause on immigration in order to allow current legal immigrants to assimilate. This is something which was successfully done in the past. However, today it seems as though assimilation is considered a bad thing by some.

I believe some think the word assimilation is a code word to support racism.

By assimilating you do away with racism through dilution because the racist are mixing with the races. So if it is used as a code word it would not be for the benefit of white Americans. It would support people of color.

Nah. I never voted for that. More importantly, the Founding Fathers didn't support that. The point of immigration should be to help the country, not to punish people already living here. Bringing people in because we feel sorry for them is the worst reason to bring a population in.

The Founders didn't revolt so that underachievers could bring the country down.
