Will President Trump cut a gun-control deal with the Democrats?

    Well, let's hope not.

“If Republicans abandon the Second Amendment and demoralize millions of Americans who care deeply about Second Amendment rights,” the Texas Republican declared, “that could go a long way to electing a President Elizabeth Warren.”

I agree. If President Trump should cut a gun control deal with the Democrats I will not vote for him.

"Texas Senator Ted Cruz is advising President Donald Trump to not cut a deal with Democrats on gun control.

He believes that doing so could cause conservatives to stay home in 2020 and cost President Trump the election.

“If Republicans abandon the Second Amendment and demoralize millions of Americans who care deeply about Second Amendment rights,” the Texas Republican declared, “that could go a long way to electing a President Elizabeth Warren.”
“We’re going to see record-setting Democratic turnout. The only element missing is demoralizing conservatives so they stay home. I hope we don’t do that,” Cruz told reporters on Thursday.

Cruz was addressing a question that referenced a potential deal between the Trump administration and a bipartisan coalition of Senators compromised of Democrats Chris Murphy of Connecticut and Joe Manchin of West Virginia, who are teaming up with Republican Patrick Toomey of Pennsylvania.

The aforementioned senators met with Trump on Wednesday and indicated that the president was close to making an announcement on background check reforms for gun purchases.

“It would also be a serious mistake as a policy matter,” Cruz claimed, contending that none of the recent mass shootings would have been prevented by current leftist proposals."

He floated the concept and walked it back the next day because of the really negative reaction. If he did that he will be the one Mondaled in 2020.

If he did that I would feel abandoned and betrayed. I would do something I have not done since I voted for the first time in 1966 in local elections. I would stay home because it really wouldn't make any difference who was in the White House anymore and the country will be another Venezuela before the next election in 2024
