Here's a video debate on "The Rise of Populism." No expectation of watching all of the video, too long, or even any if you're not interested, though I found Bannan's opening statement a decent summary of populism. He makes several points I found salient:
- We're engaged in a battle between populist nationalism and populisr socialism
- Trump didn't trigger national populism, he's a product of it
- Populist nationalism is not so much about making America great as it is about managing decline in the West
Frum doesn't get it, he, a conservative, from Canada, argues national populism as fascist and racist, the way many liberals see it.
