Trump Calls New Sanctions on Iran the Harshest Ever Placed on a Country

Im for sanctions and all other means on non military action against our enemy, Iran

President Donald Trump said Friday that new sanctions on Iran’s national bank are the strongest ever placed on a country, but reiterated that he hopes to avoid military action against the Islamist regime.

“I think sanctions work. The military would work. That’s a very severe form of winning,” Trump said during a joint White House press conference with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

“Nobody can beat us militarily,” the president said. “Nobody could even come close. What we’ve done for our military in the last three years is incredible.”

Iran is widely suspected to be behind the bombing of Saudi Arabian oil fields last week. Iran has denied involvement.

Trump responded to a question about whether the administration’s new action exhausts sanctions, and what other options short of military action the United States might take.

Before the press conference, Trump announced in the Oval Office that the United States has sanctioned the Iranian national bank.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin described the move as the strictest form of sanctions on Iran, one that will block any financial interaction between the Islamic republic’s central bank and a U.S.-related entity.

“We are continuing the maximum pressure campaign,” Mnuchin told reporters before the press conference, saying that Iran’s central bank—as well as its national development fund or wealth fund—“will be cut off from our banking system.”

Question is, did Iran acquire a nuclear bomb under the JCPOA? They seem very brazen.

If they had one you would know they wouldn’t hide it. They would parade it around like a new grandchild.

This should trigger the Iran apologists.

See, THIS is where having an intelligent and skillful LEADER as a president comes in handy. Iran is a terrorist state, and the KENYAN VILLAGE IDIOT gave those animals millions of dollars in cash. President Trump is using his amazing negotiating skills to align the world against Iran.

This will come to a head, either by Iran's goons being voted out of office or kicked out; or coordinated military action against them. And knowing Trump, the American military will likely not even be involved in the fighting. We might just pay for the weapons for other soldiers to use. But certainly if our military IS involved, the mission will be clear and there will be an exit strategy.

Sanctions is not going to hinder Iran from doing what it has been doing. The track record is clear. Iran should be dealt with in terms where they understand that the planet can exist without an Iran.

From what I hear the issue Iran is having is paying out military and government pensions. It is amazing the effect this has on an entity. Take for example the fact that many American states and cities are going to face this in the near future.(for different reasons)

Pension crisis leads to social unrest.

Hum. Maybe this is why they keep trying to sucker someone into a war or fight. Just thinking a bit. Not being able to pay for things like this might require some distraction.

If they can’t pay internal bills then keep squeezing. They will make a mistake. My experience tells me desperate people do desperate things.
