Dayson kitty vanished two nights ago, and last night Bunny came in terrified. I made a video to show the vet in case she was having some medical issue, but what I saw was pure terror. Rapid breathing, jerky tail and head movements and low guttural growling. This morning she vanished.
I called the sheriff and their wildlife guy told me I have a predator around my place preying on my cats.
My wife's plane gets in today, and she knew about Dayson, but not about Bunny. I will have to let her know after she gets here.
I am now officially and publicly breaking my vow to never kill anything again.
This predator will find there is another much more vicious and experienced predator here.
First i need intelligence, so i have several trail cameras set up for tonight. I will set out the usual raccoon food as normal, then see what is revealed. Once i know what I am dealing with I will adapt my tactics for maximum results. There may be more than one.
Right now is time to grieve for my beloved kitties.
The first is Bunny and the second Dayson.
I called her Bunny because her fur pattern is just like a wild rabbit's.
I called him Dayson because on April 18th of this year my wife and I stopped at a Day's Inn and found him wet, alone, and panicked in the landscaping out front. As soon as she picked him up, he curled up to her chest and started purring real loud. yeah, we HAD to take him home after that.
