A year ago, I strongly objected to the new standard of guilty until proven innocent, as it was applied to Brett Kavanaugh.
But it is no less inappropriate when it is applied in the world of sports.
Wide receiver Antonio Brown has just been released from the New England Patriots, following accusations of rape and other sexual misconduct.
And it is quite possible that those allegations are true.
At this point, however, they amount to a he-said-she-said sort of thing.
True, some will say that this had nothing to do with the recent allegations--especially since Brown was released earlier by the Oakland Raiders.
But I am really not a big believer in coincidence...
