When 'SoA' ended, a site called Screenbid.com obtained a huge collection of items to put up for auction. The vintage Harley on which Jax Teller makes his final ride fetched almost 50K. That wasn't in my budget, but I managed to be the high bidder on some stuff, and have since purchased other things from fellow collectors. People sometimes wonder why I have framed geological survey maps of Stockton and Salida hanging on my office wall, and I tell them they used to hang on the wall outside Lt. Roosevelt's office in the Sheriff's post in Charming.

I used to have a co-worker who questioned why I was so into 'Sons of Anarchy' - "a show about criminals" - and then would come in every week and wax rhapsodic about the latest episode of 'The Sopranos'.

I'd guess some people probably have the same view of 'Breaking Bad'. Or any show whose focus is on characters who are absolutely not heroes by any stretch. If a show, or for that matter a film, is well done and interesting, I don't think it has to necessarily show the bad guys in an unrelentingly bad light. The villains of the cinema and t.v., just like the villains of literature and of history, are some of the most fascinating characters.

IMO, the fact that the main characher (Walter White)was just a science teacher and his partner (Jessie) was just a student being the dominant theme of the show was what propelled it to the heights it enjoyed. The interaction and contrast Walter had to his wife, the underworld , his attorney, hos DEA brother in law wove a very complex and interesting web

I havent seen it yet but the reviews say it dovetailed very well off of the series. Helena, what did you think of the ending scene of the Breaking Bad series? The song " Baby Blue" was the star of that episode. The producers claimed not to know "Baby Blue" had a dominant role in the " Departed". Lovely song. ..

I think the producers and the writers put excellent thought into everything that went into the series. I think they knew. Really loved the fans breaking down Felina to the elemental parts. So fantastic.

El Camino was good, like watching back to back episodes of Breaking Bad. I particularly enjoyed Robert Forster, who sadly died just a few days ago.

I don't know that I felt a sense of completion at the end though. Don't want to give anything away for those who haven't watched it.

Didn't like the show even though I will concede it was well written and well acted. Every major character in the show was a scumbag. Not one of them was even a little likeable.

I wouldn't say Mike was a scumbag. He definitely was morally flexible, but he had more of a code than the other characters. You see more of how this code works in Better Call Saul.
