New Mac Pro to be Mfg. in Texas

Based on article and report from KXAN. com; an Austin, Texas media outlet;

I have had my eye on one of those new Mac's for quite a while. This article is the first time I have seen the price for the base unit. A lot lower than I thought it would be. Meanwhile back at the front, while I am happy to see Mfg. in the US - I would surely have preferred someplace other than Austin. Further, I would caution against celebrating too quickly. I would first ask, why are Austin, and Denver viewed so attractively to support Mfg investments?

Secondly, I would pay attention to the remark by the spokesperson from the Austin Chamber of Commerce; " we’re advocating for things that are going to continue to expand manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, in the region."

I do not want to overly impact the euphoria associated with waving the red, white and blue, but High Tech Mfg. is neither altruistic nor patriotic. It's about the $$, and I suspect the $$ analysis goes deeper than the tariff exclusions.

In closing, I will say, "here, take a bite of this Apple, it was made in the good ole USA."

Im glad they are being manufactured here but I dont buy anything apple. Apple is predatory for starters they are overpriced, second you cant repair or upgrade anything mac, you have to send it back to Apple and they murder you with charges. With IBM you just go into any local computer shop or you can upgrade and make repairs yourself.

I know first hand that that apple puts their own engineered screws inside mac that you need a special tool for that they wont sell you, so you cant fix their computers and it must be shipped to apple.
