OJ (the gray tabby) was more a dog than a cat. He came when I called and would go where I told him to go.

When I had lady friends over he would take advantage of the situation to "steal" jewelry and always hid them under the same corner of a throw-rug. When what was her name would ask in the morning where her stuff was I said look under the rug over there.

    Lol, that's hilarious.

Even though Simon comes when called, he's still mostly cat, and can be stubborn as hell sometimes. But most times he's as lovable as all get out. He's a big cat though, and will draw blood when the mood strikes him, lol. He actually eats most of his kills.

OJ wasn't big. He was mean. Often when I was typing my school notes into an outline (that is how I studied to learn rather than just study for the test), he would sneak up behind me and claw my back. He drew blood when he did that and I think he knew what he was doing. I would play with him for a bit, and get back to work.

My attitude about that video was that it was shocking and sickening, but that said, I think one usually must just let go of that kind of thing. Animal abuse does occur, and as much as I find it abhorrent, I generally personally just let it go. I don't do it and you don't do it, so we can feel better about ourselves or whatever, but that said, I do not feel animals generally to be on the same level of sanctity, if that's the right word, as people. Practically speaking, that is a huge can of worms that I'm not going to open.
I think most animals are better than most people.

Friend of mine lost his kitty by allowing it to eat a killed rat. The rat had just consumed something like d-CON..

That's a shame. Thanks for the warning. We live in the country, and our closest neighbor is about a quarter mile away, so hopefully there's much chance of that happening. The cats are only let out for brief periods, and don't seem to range very far. We used to let them out all day, but then this year we have had some coyotes in the area, so we keep them in much of the time now.

Keep that thought in mind when buying anything consumable. YOU are the end user also.
