JAP..sorry i got a bit off Tupac( pun intended 2 pac = topic) on this thread. Music is such an intertwined art form its hard to discuss it without other genres of music being in the mix. I absolutely adore your appreciation of music. Thank you.

Good evening AZ. I missed this post yesterday. Lefty was an influence om many country greats such as Roy Orbison , Willie Nelson and more. He lived in Arkansas as a child and is probably the most underrated performer of his time. He died young ( before age 50 i think ) but he left a mark within the industry that still rings prominent today. Cool share of your story. I would have enjoyed an evening of drankin ' with him myself. !

Could you post some of the songs you like?

I was " born in a crossfire hurricane" ( mick jaggers reference to being born during wartime England) but was raised on the cotton farm and in the recording studio listening to soul greats Isaac Hayes and geater Davis. Dad was a ballot for the CMA awards but my main interest in country was Johnny Cash and Ray Stevens. Beyonf that soul, rhythm and blues and rock
My dad didnt like recording with rock musicians because they were usually drug addicts and he didnt want me exposed to them either.

Thats a shame. I dont see how anyone cannot appreciate a greater knowledge of something as natural to the human psyche as music. My studies have shown it crosses all cultures and throughout time has had the same impact throughout history on mankind.
