Small movement in front of my mower two days ago.
God put you in my way.
How you got in the middle of my yard I have no idea,
but God put you in my way.

I kept you warm the first few hours,
as i read and tried to find how to care for you.
...because God put you in my way.

I found powdered puppy milk,
some other things you might need.
I have no idea about how to care or raise you,
but God put you in my way.

I will learn how to do it the right way.
learn how to heal you and raise you back to health.
I pray for His hand to guide me.
and do it the right way.

Yes, I wrote it as I looked at their picture I just took of them.
It was what I wanted to tell them.

Sadly, one of them is gone, but the other is getting stronger.

They are baby ground squirrels.

One has passed, but the other is getting stronger.

Feeding every four hours of a mix of Pedilite(sp) and powdered puppy milk warmed up just a bit.
The syringe has to be held horizontally and the baby vertical, and you have to go very slow.
Holding them in cupped hands also seems to be medicine for them too.


If he makes it another week I can try him on crushed apples.

It grieves me to say the second little baby passed away this morning.
He appeared to be getting better then took a downhill quick slide.
My wife took him under her wing and all her maternal instincts kicked in with the little guy.

I only hope we kept him comfortable and fed as he needed.
She told me he gave her three small chirps then went.
She said he looked right at her as if to say goodbye..
