Got true story; When I lived in the spooky Santa Cruz Mountains during the 70's and 80's, there was a pack of hippies living up the mountain at what was called the Lime Kilns, which is now a State Park. So me and GF hiked up the trail and poked around. We found a pile of human bones in the creek there! The town had been burned down by a mob of Rednecks. As we came back down the trail to the trailhead, we were greeted by ARMED park rangers with drawn guns, and they warned us to never go there again!

During the early 70's there were Manson Family people living in a town called Lompico, and rumor was that they had a portable crematorioun there!

Lompico was an area that decent folks never went to. It was inhabited by heroin addicts, renegade hippies and Devil worshippers!

I have never seen armed park rangers. But they may have been back around Manson's time.
