Society is term used, much like the greater good, to lend a hand to tyrants.

I did concede that there were a few similarities between religion and the concept of gender identity. They are both self-identification on a basic level. One has a much more significant social context, however.
That being said, honestly, I think religion shouldn't be a protected class. The fact that it is does open the door to gender identity and a few other items, but it certainly doesn't require it.

OK, so show us where it says individual rights in "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Or in "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." Or in "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
