    "White male resentment"

If a white male were to speak disparagingly about "black resentment," or "Latino resentment"--or even of "female resentment"--then he would be pilloried by others.

    And rightly so.

But it does appear that white males are the last group that can be disparaged--with no repercussions.

CNN Opinion writer Jeff Yang describes the new Joker movie as a reflection of "white-male resentment"--which (supposedly) gave us (gasp!) Donald Trump as president.

Does anyone else see a double standard here?

We have a lot of weapons, ammunition, and righteous anger. Eventually we will stop taking it.

Why are you upset that someone used the term "white male resentment", when entire threads about it have been created and supported - by white males - on this very forum?

White males talking about how downtrodden they are and how everyone is making fun of them all the time...? You haven't read those? You should - they're funny, in a sad sort of way.

    And rightly so.

This is a clear case of begging the question. The author begins with the assumption that identifying something as "Latino resentment", "black resentment", etc., would be wrong. The correct question, then, is "Why?" Used in the proper context, those phrases are not disparaging - merely descriptive of a real-life attitude.

From there he attempts to create the illusion of a "double standard" - which seems to be a hobby with some members - where none exists.

To be affected by labels and so-called woke false narratives you have to be insecure in yourself. The fact that we are targeted is proof enough of whom is at the helm in most all endeavors.

That is a lot of word salad.

Whites can be called to be exterminated on C-SPAN with no backlash.

Do some research on the topic.

White people can do nothing of the sort. You are peddling a lie.
Liberals are a clear and present danger to our nation

I usually let this $#@! roll off my back. But Network TV appears to have become "I hate white dudes central" They are taking it to ridiculous extremes. On gray's anatomy a woman actually told a man who's fling was pregnant ( I\m pretty sure the same guy was gay the last time i was trapped in the room and had to watch that show) that he had a right to feelings , not to an opinion mind you but a right to have feelings about whether his potential child lived or died! On another show a young AA woman was given only 20 minutes of CPR when white folk got twice that, an insane premise that some will think is true.
This is truly getting ridiculous and remember the same people producing this crap are the ones who $#@!ed about the roles of minorities and women on TV and believe this influences perception.
We need a white man rights group.

I wouldn't say it's about being downtrodden. It's about pointing out that criticizing some groups in a national publication is acceptable while criticizing others isn't.

The double standard comes from that angle. The resentment is actually partially a result of the double standard. Basically, any white male that is actually paying attention to this double standard has a good reason to leave progressivism behind.
