Fluoride exposure damages liver and kidney function
My water filter is suppose to filter out fluoride, along with all other contaminates. And more localities are removing it from water.
Here is an old article from the NYTs:We know there’s fluoride in most brands of toothpaste and mouthwash. But, most disturbingly, conventional dentistry is proud to support these products – even though the dangers of fluoride exposure have been well-documented throughout the independent scientific literature.
For example, research in the mid-1970’s by the late Dr. Dean Burk, head of the cytochemistry division of the National Cancer Institute, indicated that 10,000 or more fluoridation-linked cancer deaths occur yearly in the United States.
Now, a recent study published in Environmental International points to how damaging fluoride exposure can be to adolescents, too. A one, two punch if you will – since many of these children were already affected by fluoride in the womb – and now their continued exposure is leading to organ damage.
Fluoride represents a clear and present danger to children
It was a routine purchase of that most benign of products, toothpaste, at a Duane Reade drugstore in Manhattan. So Laura Cheek, mother of a 22-month-old daughter, did a double take when she read the new message on the tube of Colgate that she had just pulled off the shelf:
''Warning: Keep out of the reach of children under 6 years of age. If you accidentally swallow more than used for brushing, seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.''
Poison-control center? For ingesting toothpaste? ''I mean, what does that do to you?'' a worried Ms. Cheek asked, musing out loud whether she should continue helping her toddler to brush. ''I don't want to use it if it will harm you.''
