New Army PT test: 84% women fail

New Army PT test: 84% women fail

I figured this would happen. The reserve forces, both men and woman, will also have a high fail rate.

In previous articles for ClearanceJobs, I’ve thrown rocks at the Army’s catastrophically ill-considered Army Combat Fitness Test—the planned successor to the proven and successful Army Physical Fitness Test. I will admit, however, that my arguments against it emerged strictly from experience and logic. I am a fan of the original APFT because I watched soldiers in my platoon take the challenge to raise their scores, and watched pounds melt away and recruiting poster paratroopers emerge. As for logic, the APFT essentially costs a unit ten bucks and two hours to run through an entire company of soldiers, whereas the ACFT costs… more. Tens of millions of dollars more.

Why did you figure this would happen? I don't know anything about this test. Is it harder than the previous test? 30% fail rate by males, according to the article. What are we supposed to take away from this?

The takeaway is this, they lowered all the standards to allow women to pass, when you lower standards for women, the standards are also lowered for men. The army finally realized they had created an unfit force that was getting more unfit yearly and had to raise the standards back up.

Helena the military isnt a video game, its real life, its real bullets an blood and death. An unfit soldier in combat is a "DEAD" soldier. A soldier surrounded by unfit soldiers is a DEAD SOLDIER.

This ridiculous lowering of standards to allow women to be in positions they wouldnt qualifty to do by the normal standards has caused the military to be less fit.

I applaud them raising the standards, If liberals want to push the narrative that women are the same as men then they have to do the same things men do at the same level

The test is much harder than the old test. Also there is no separate scoring chart for females. That is why I expected so many to fail. The reserves will have problems because of limited access to the gear needed to practice for the test.

Here is the official website for the test.

They still lowered the standard so women could pass Ranger School. I doubt that any who did pass would last long in the Ranger Regiment.

Special Forces had a scandal where standards were lowered because the needed to plus up the size of the force to meet mission requirements.

    Same with the Seals.

Do you believe there should be a separate scoring chart for females?

Combat conditions in the field would be the same for both men and women.

A wheeled vehicle mechanic does not have the same physical demands as a cannon $#@!er. A Blackhawk pilot does not have the same physical demands as a combat medic.

...but there have been tons of instances where all of the above were required to put "rifle to shoulder" and fight off an enemy advance.

These new PT requirements will ensure they can at least carry two ammo cans out of the helo on the run.
