Normally I will support the police except in instances of obvious malice. I believe this was one of those instances. This is the second time a citizen has asked for police help only to be shot and killed because the cop "feared for his life". It seems some jurisdictions are hiring trigger happy cops. What kind of training are these people getting? If my house is broken into should I worry more about the criminal or the cop who may be so afraid he will shoot the first thing that moves?
The news report stated "a gun was found in the house but its location was unknown". If the police were to search my house they would find eight guns, all stored in a gun bag in the back of my closet on the top shelf. The police officer who shot this woman needs to be sent to prison for life.
Until all the facts come out becasue I know the media lies and edits things, has no shame in doing so, I will hold off condeming this man. But it doesn't look good.

A police PR person can make any one of us look like John Dillinger if they want to.

According to the report I saw a neighbor called police because her door was open and she was in a room playing video games with her grand children. The cop has resigned and could and should face criminal charges.
So there was a gun in the house. Next we will hear that there were "drugs" in the house, and some folk will likely try to make something out of that. Some years ago, here in the Phoenix area, some scumbag bounty hunters smashed their way into a home in the wee hours and shot a couple - the homeowners, not the individual they were ostensibly looking for - in their bed, and also terrorized other family members. Two days later, all the local news reports about the incident led with the information that the couple "had marijuana in their systems" - as though that were somehow pertinent to their having been murdered in their home.

Maybe we should start doing drug test of cops that commit these kinds of shoddy police work.
