Interesting video on the demographic issues facing China. China is ageing much faster than the Western nations have and it's possible that China could "get old before they get rich".

Watching now. I have posted about this before. But every time I mention the term demographics I get crickets here. Probably because of public schools.

No, China is not running out of people. The dictatorship there controls the economy, which will do whatever the dictatorship makes it do. If the Chinese population is falling, why has China become so aggressive militarily? What difference does Hong Kong, for an example, make to them?

I would separate the Hong Kong and Tiawian issue from China's demographic dangers. The topics are not related.

And yes, they are running out of people- young people. They have plenty of old people. That is a bad position for a nation to be in.

They are running put of people due to their one child policy. The female babies were likely to be killed. The people wanted sons. Those sons can't find women to impregnate. We have the same problem here with our own one child families. Neither of us is replacing our populations.

We have a demographic problem of too few young people to support the welfare state for old people (SS). China's problem is worse. They have that, plus an imbalance of men to women.

Historically when a group of people had too many males wars happened.
