The SP101 is a good gun, but even the best manufacturer can turn out one that is not up to standard from time to time. It sounds like it is time to turn it over to a smith. Hopefully, he will just do a little bit of stoning on it to get it up to speed.

That would probably be quicker than sending it back to Ruger and having them do it.

I agree, this gun smith has a full machine shop, he makes custom parts and builds ar-15s, he does some of the most amazing duracoat designs ive seen, beautiful work.

Hes a dealer and a trainer, ive bought 2 guns from him, he has a laser training computerized setup for Beginners that have never held a gun and he starts training from there.

WHat I like is that everything is informal he has a large piece of property and his work shop is a large quanset hut. Which he has partioned off, really neat setup. He sells survival food and has a range on the side that is not open to the public, just for him and who he invites.

Most of them are like that. I know several people who carry SP101s who swear by them, particularly the 3" barrel model.

Hopefully, Common's gunsmith friend will be able to smooth this one out for his shooting buddy.

I dont want you to think I dont know ruger is a great wheel gun, because I do and I realize my friends is the exception not the rule.

Smoothing out a trigger isnt a big deal and he'll do it tomorrow while he waits

Where i buy ammo had 357 target round nose ammo on sale, cheaper than a box of 38 target so I bought them.

Uh firing 357s from a 2 inch barrels isnt for sissys, after 50 rounds I had enough of that. I keep +P in it at home.

You are indeed right the recoil from a 357 mag from a snubby is substantial. at one time I had 4 357 mags a Desert Eagle in 44 Mag and a sw 41 mag. I ended up selling most of them when I stopped teaching shooting for the College.
Imbdownbto 357 mag wheel guns. The eagle was a bruiser. The 41 mag was a 4 inch and i enjoyed it a lot. Frankly a 357 snubbys rwcoil seemed more severe then the 41 mag
I shoot both 38 loads and 357 mag in my rugar and tarus total titanium.7 shot which is ported. I perfer the rugar its heavier.I also hand load so I can make rounds from entry level power to plus p . i perfer entry level .
It lets me shoot more and spend less lol well shoot more for the same price its axexpensive hobby expecially with a full auto mp 5
