    Karma ?

Perhaps someone could tell me what Karma is? I notice everyone has various amounts in their descriptions.
I looked it up in the dictionary which stated that Karma could be either good or bad...so how can a number define that?
Does the number stand for good karma...in which case I would be lower than whale poo, or bad karma in which case I would shine? Just too much to contemplate so I have decided to ignore it...either way.
Still, I would like to satisfy my curiosity.
For those of you that reply...Thank you, and for the rest of you, karma on you.

My thoughts are that they calculate your posts and replies, and how many times you thank a person, how many thanks you get vs how many posts you have made. It is calculated together to give such a number, and voila that is your TPF Karma. I might be wrong though.... happens sometimes, lol.

Karma is a topic that can be a bit confusing. The concept is a part of many traditions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, Taoism, Shintoism, and more. Because of the different interpretations of karma, the common meaning of the word in the West, and the origins of the principle in a time and culture far different from ours in the West, many people hold a very loose understanding of what karma is, how it affects us, and what it means in our practice and daily lives. The Buddhist texts are full of quotes about karma, and it really is something worth investigating.

We just use it in a slang form
Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies.

Good question. The mods or admin would know.

My karma is a case in point. 2566. Why? What sorcery is this? Is it low or high? Who decides it, and what does it mean on this board? No idea. It must mean something to someone, but it means nothing to me.

It does seem a bit religious for a discussion board.

My karma is only 1599. It might have something to do with my posts ? I have 4888 but only 7 of them made sense to anybody but myself. That could be holding me back in many areas, not just karma
