So you watch no football TV? Good for you, most of it is BS. But it's a term they use for a QB who isn't the a super star media darling who throws 40-45 times a game. Typically such types do not have the yards per pass attempt numbers that Jimmy G does and specialize in the art of the 5 yard pass.
Well Jimmy got that monkey off his back last night lighting up the air for 4 needed TD's and over 300 yards while playing lights out on 3rd and 4th down. |Turns out if he throws 50% more passes than normal he can put up big numbers to. Who knew it worked like that? Well I did , but don't tell the talking heads. Sure, he didn't stat pad like the "top tier " guys, but just keeps producing what he asked to produce. what would a"top tier QB" have done last night? I'm not even saying he is top tier but he is closer than many , including you give him credit for.
Anyway he was less smooth after the game but we'll see...

It was a Jimmy G powered offense last night but much like the time proven Super star he goes against next week, Jimmy is one of the few who will be just as happy handing it off for TD's as he is throwing them. That 6 is essentially what makes Russell Wilson like nobody else. He'll quietly hand off time and time again and then rescue the team on 3rd down or in the two minute drill even if it means running at the backers. No passing rythm , no problem for Wilson. And not much for Jimmy either. No premaddona's need apply in the NFC west. I am NOT comparing Garappolo to Wilson, just the type of game they are expected to play.
I don't believe Garopolo is as big a deal as the OP, but I do think the 49ers are legit. They have a good running game. Their defensive line is pretty good.
The Monday night game with Seattle might be worth watching.
