I had a 2001 Cadillac Catera which was really an Opel Senator. I called it my Y1K car or "Why were all repairs $1,000.00". I had a six year extended warranty on the car, the minute the warranty was up I traded the car.

I don't know much about the Opel GT, but maybe that's a better offering from them. I mostly just found that the Aura and Astra were pretty bad.

Opel has not been in the American market since the mid 70’s.
It's 2 different brands, although GM had a strategy of bringing over some Opels since the 2000s. They put the Astra and Aura under Saturn until it folded. Then they put the Astra under Buick. I'm not sure if the Aura is sold anywhere in the US now, however.

My Saturn Astra was built in the same Belgian factory that made the Opel version.

I just looked it up, but the Opel GT was sold in America briefly as the Saturn Sky. The Sky was admittedly one of the better cars under Saturn. In hindsight, I should've bought that back when I got the Astra instead.
