Woman Found Dead With 8-Foot Python Around Neck

Laura Hurst, 36, was found unresponsive Wednesday night on the floor of a home in the northern Indiana town of Oxford, with the snake wrapped loosely around her neck, said Indiana State Police Sgt. Kim Riley.

"She appears to have been strangled by the snake," Riley told the Journal & Courier. "We do not know that for a fact until after the autopsy."

The Journal & Courier reported that property records show the house is owned by Benton County Sheriff Don Munson, who lives next door. ... "I've given all information to the state police," he said, adding that he was "being fully cooperative with everybody."

Initial reports from officers on the scene described the animal as a "pit bull".

Man, can you imagine your last thoughts if you were dying by and 8 foot python? In your mind you would be like no way!!! Once I was gargling some listerine, Lol sorry it makes me laugh just remembering it. Anyways somehow I must have breathed in a little bit. Some went into my lungs. I wasnt able to cough it out because my lungs just seized up. I couldnt breathe at all. Then it was like suddenly I was looking at myself from outside of me, and I was busting up inside of my mind. Of all the ways you worry about dying you never once thought you'd die by listerine, Lol. I dont know why that was so funny to me. Somehow I coughed it out, but I never forgot how extreemely funny it was in my mind while it was happening. I suppose my sense of humor goes too far, but sometimes things just strike you as funny.

Apparently, reptiles are not to be trusted. I recall, not too long ago a post on social media of a woman who loved to "cuddle" in bed with her snake curled around her (by the provided photo, it looked like a 12 or 14 footer). One of the comments was from a biologist who said basically, um, your snake isn't "cuddling" it's sizing you up for a meal
