Police Tase Man in His Home as He Held His Baby

ARIZONA — The Tempe Police Department says an officer used a Taser on a domestic violence suspect earlier this year while the suspect was holding his one-year-old child. Police say the incident happened on June 15, 2019, at a home near Hardy Road and Elliot Drive.Ivaughn Oakry was arrested and charged with one count of domestic violence endangerment of the child and one count of domestic violence assault of the mother, however court records show those charges were later dropped.

The woman calls the cops claiming he was hitting her but when the cops arrive she says he didn't do anything. Then instead of talking to the police he decides to use a child. Crazy all of this could have been avoided.

What a db. Usually for domestic disturbance calls, someone is going to take a ride, majority of the time it's the guy.

That bad man endangered the life of his baby. That is despicable.

As much of a DB as that guy was, those officers also endangered that child. That guy might have dropped the child on his head. Had the child sustained a broken neck, or serious head injury, both the father and the LEO who used the taser would have shared responsibility. Kudos to the female officer who removed the other children from the house.
