Post Midway movie - (the new one) - is anybody going to see this weekend?

I am pretty excited about the new Midway movie, which comes out today:

What a great story. The old movie was wonderfully entertaining:

I've enjoyed the old one many times. I'll probably wait for the DVD unless some of my friends and acquaintances say ya need to see the big screen.

I saw the poster for this in the theater lobby the other day, as my son and I were coming out of Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, and I said, "Didn't they already do this about forty years ago?"

I WAS going to ask do we really need another movie about that battle, but then I watched the trailer. Wow! Thanks for bringing this to my attention, DG. I plan to go watch the new Terminator film this weekend, but maybe next weekend, or after my doctor's appointment on Wednesday, I'll check this out.

If I recall correctly, the original was in Sensurround? The most epic movie experience ever (up to that point). I will definitely be watching the re-make.

I'm not a huge war movie fan, but went full screen on the trailer and the effects look amazing.

Will definitely put in in my Blu-ray queue on DVD.com

Audiences love it - The critics are not thrilled.

Its the audience who pays the bills, not the critics.

    Probably for me.
I am tired of everyone fighting with each other. This is all by design.

No disagreement there. However, I usually reserve my fairly rare trips out to the theater on films that have both strong critical and audience reviews.

The merely interesting ones go into my queue.

CGI movies don't do it for me/ the original 70s version in sensaround rocked me. The sound and moving/rumbling theater chairs were great
