The paint that you use also depends on your climate, so what's appropriate in say Colorado, may not be appropriate in Florida and paints also have different ratings depending on whether you are painting wood siding or aluminum siding etc. The absolute most important thing, even if you have the very best paint, is proper prep work. The best paint can be undone by poor prep. https://www.angieslist.com/articles/...rior-paint.htm

Painting aluminum siding doesn't always turn out well.

I was talking to my contractor the other day about how the house stain and deck products we has used lately sucked , peeling badly on the house's windy side within a few years and on the decks almost immediately. He agreed and feels it's so bad he pushes metal siding wherever he can.
He has had all manner of related problems in the past decade or so.
Ordinarily I would of cautioned you against paying that price. But if that's what it takes then it's worth it. I would hate to pay that price and have to repaint in 5 years though!
You also have to power wash the siding. Then you have to a have a cool, non-humid couple of day for the painting and the drying. Too much heat will cause the paint to dry out before setting. Humidity will keep the paint from truly curing. This applies to any outdoor painting.
