That's nice, a refocus on Millenials. Millennials also like the idea of socialism.

Well, I can see just how much attention that you paid to the article. You have ignored the fact that many people have been attending church just for show for years and that the decline didn't just begin yesterday, it's been happening for years. My own parents left the church when I was just a child. It wasn't because of "indifference and apathy in reaction to vapid theology". It was because they found it to be a hypocritical institution and not very relevant in their lives. The fact that more liberals tend to live in urban or suburban areas and more social conservatives live in rural areas may also help to explain the difference in social pressure to belong to a church at all or to conform to a community standard or to even associate community with religious faith.

Those with an agenda want to see this as political but it's not. It's sociological.
In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.

Yep, that's what the op article says alright, about liberal Christians. So what's your explanation?

That it's inevitable that there would be a decline in Christian church attendance with advancements in the human condition and urbanization. Christianity always contained the seeds of its own demise as organized faith by so thoroughly transferring its moral and ethical fundamentals to the cultures, philosophy, social structure and laws of its most ardent devotees.

I don't disagree that Christianity, in part, created its own undermining, but that's not to the point here.

What you're saying in this thread is true largely of liberal Christians here and in Europe. What is it about that combination, liberal and Christian, that drives them from Christianity and toward liberalism. That's the explanation I'd love to hear from you.

THAT is not ad-him dude. You’re using a religious source to talk about religion: hardly objective.

So, jet, why do you liberals defend logical fallacies like ad hom? Why do you attack the messenger and avoid addressing the message?

A church is a business. I think the church leaders have been forced to broaden their approach to keep it afloat. In doing so they've also alienated some of their congregation.
