Did the Puritans invent Thanksgiving once they arrived in America? Of course not. The origins of modern Thanksgiving can be traced back to Europe. And that European festival traces its roots back to harvest festivals.

Not really. Common Sense doesn't believe so I can understand how "they all look the same to me" comments happen. That said, I do think his superficial approach to some topics blinds him to the obvious and historically important (even crucial) differences with respect to religious outlook, worldview and culture.

If they all look the same to you one could trace just about anything back to prehistory...but that's not helpful or intelligent, quite frankly.

This is just like the Orange Man Ukraine bad thing. In fact it is Biden and his bad son (his good son died) who were neck deep in corruption in Ukraine, so the hard left and their fluffers in the "media" say Orange Man bad.

During the push for O'Care, Obama encouraged the "woke" to get in the faces of their families and friends and Thanksgiving dinner to shrill for O'Care. They are repeating that playbook this year with "impeachment." Now this OP is saying FOX has a war against Thanksgiving.

FOX perhaps has a war against the history-remakers who want to celebrate the stone age native tribes in the place of Thanksgiving.

Next someone will say that Easter was an an ancient ritual of hiding eggs to teach children how to gather food.

Yeah, things have origins. Acknowledging that isn't an attack on Christianity or Thanksgiving. It's simply acknowledging reality.

If indeed Thanksgiving is a Christian holiday, where can I find a reference to it in the bible?

That's my favorite, actually. The case that Easter is a pagan holiday is historically implausible (in fact, demonstrably wrong) but it persists. There is a much more plausible argument that December 25th was deliberately chosen as Christ's DOB (this is virtually impossible to demonstrate but it's certainly plausible) but...who cares? What difference does it make? Does that establish any sort of relationship between the Christian feats and any given pagan celebration? Of course not.

I didn't say it was an attack. I said it was ignorant and pointless.

The same place where you can find reference to any number of Christian feast days including Christmas and Easter. No where. Despite your fixation on a segment of evangelicals we don't worship the bible.

Can you find the word “Christmas” in the Bible? Easter is the holiest of all Christian holidays. Is that mentioned in the Bible?
