Some ideas do apply to our politics and social policies. Some truths don't change with the wind or how a group of people feel at the moment. Some of it is a load of crap or just some old guy opinion. Hard to know sometimes.

Ah, so you were engaging yet again in whataboutism.

The cabal’s leader once again is using terms in violation of the English language. The rest of the sycophants are jumping in looking for relevancy.

As I have long maintained, a forum is composed of many individuals with sometimes very different ideas about what the forum should be. Some are here to discuss the issues seriously and respectfully, while others think that's too boring and actually welcome the insults, the hyperbole, the condescension and the nastiness; it's what they live for while they're here.

One problem that I've seen and experienced is that whenever a thread, or even a single post contains suggestions as to how to make the forum a more enjoyable place to spend time, there are those whose first reaction is to point a finger at the author of that post and declare him or her to be the biggest violator - even if the author has just confessed to sometimes failing to live up to his or her own suggestion. This is particularly true of those members whose long term grudge-holding has completely unhinged them in terms of being able to respond to certain other members fairly or intelligently.

Agreed. It does become frustrating, however, when someone has just attempted to support some view of their own by citing something Aristotle or Kant or Nietzche wrote, and when you disagree with that poster (and with their interpretation and application) they accuse you of thinking that you are superior in your analytical ability than one of the great philosophers of history.

Posts #24 and 25 illustrate well that last.
