    Well, the joke is on us. After eight years of debating among ourselves what breeds Lily might embody, I just received the results from the Wisdom folks.

    Lily is 100% American Staffordshire Terrier.

    I've been looking at photos of purebred Staffies, and some of them DO have the spots, and some have those huge bat ears.

    All of our theories about greyhound, hunting dog or kangaroo DNA are out the window.

    The wife and I were discussing it, and it occurred to us that because Lily's long legs and unusual coloring are not typical of a "pitbull", they may very well be the reason she was dumped in that parking lot. A backyard breeder may have decided that she was undesirable and likely unsaleable because she didn't look pit-ish enough. The more I think about it, that seems the most likely explanation.

    This is what I mean by an AmStaff that looks more like a typical pitbull than Lily does.
