Post The Day We Discovered Our Parents Were Russian Spies

For years Donald Heathfield, Tracey Foley, and their two children lived the American dream. Then an FBI raid revealed the truth: They were agents of Putin’s Russia. Their sons tell their story.

    Wow. Interesting story.

That's a fascinating story. I wonder if they'll ever be approved for Canadian citizenship?

I believe the boys when they say their parents didn't talk about being Russian spies, but I question whether they were trained for a "worst case scenario," which might have included sneaking out the morning after their parents were arrested and calling an attorney -- or knowing not to ask questions of their mother about what happened when they visited her in jail.

I also wonder if the parents might have had second thoughts after all the years they lived as Canadians and then in the US? It seems as though the lure of Mother Russia, might have dissipated a bit when they were exposed to a different way of life. At any rate, it seems the parents have lucrative careers in Russia now.

When I started reading I was thinking - The Americans. Then closer to the end, the author confirmed it. The series was based, in part on these kids's lives.

    Great read.
