SEATTLE (AP) — Patrick DePoe was in high school the last time his Native American tribe in Washington state was allowed to hunt whales. He was on a canoe that greeted the crew towing in the body of a gray whale. His shop class worked to clean the bones and reassemble the skeleton, which hangs in a tribal museum.Two decades later, he and the Makah Tribe — the only American Indians with a treaty right to hunt whales — are still waiting for government permission to hunt again as their people historically did. The tribe, in the remote northwest corner of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, hopes to use the whales for food and to make handicrafts, artwork and tools they can sell.

I’d really have no issue with it if they were required to hunt the whale the same way their ancestors did. If that was a requirement he whales would be safe.

This is happening in a village called Neah Bay. The surrounding area is as scenic as it can get. The town looks much like a Venezuelan slum.

Really, casino money, as there is nothing spiritual in hunting a whale. It is a damaging substitute to whales who have a family and social order some of "mankind" destroys for deceptive reasons. The tree of life is not a lie, as animals have feelings, know there is a Creator that loves them. Whales beach in distress, their home, the oceans, polluted to what much of mankind has become.

A destructive predator, their home polluted, they move onto the next victim. That if it was their family or social structure destroyed, they would be in all kinds of emotions. When they do not care what happens to animals, who were created before selfish man was, as the bee is higher than man is, even, who only thinks of what he can 'eat' next, because he is dumb and vain, a whale deserves better than stupid having to take his life from him.
