I sure that the few who did attend were more concerned with what was going on between his ears vs his physical ability

He proved that he is an immature clown. He sniped at the owners, the Commissioner and the 32 teams in general.

You'd think if one was trying to get back into the NFL he would at least try to prove that he has matured a bit over the last three years. Instead he decided to see if he could burn some bridges.

    He's truly a dumb-ass.

I think it was intentional. I don't think he actually wants to be hired again. If he is, that gets rid of his entire schtick. He's just looking for attention, because a lot of activist types fit that mentality perfectly. They wouldn't know what to do if they actually accomplished their cause's goal, so they instead maintain perpetual self-righteousness by either sabotaging legitimate efforts of reconciliation or by moving goalposts when their original goal is close to being met.

The true idiots in all this are his supporters for not seeing what his con is. Unfortunately, many of these useful idiots are in the media.

He cost the NFL a lot of money. I wonder why they are even giving him a second chance.

Maybe he's trying NOT to get back while making it look like he is? That's about the only explanation I can think of, short of an untreated personality disorder or something.

Could his settlement include annual payments that reduce or go away if he gets a job?

He could be trying to create more controversy and claim there's a league wide conspiracy to keep him out.

The NFL was trying to hold a private workout so they could control the narrative, if he did well they could bury it. If he didn’t do well they could blast it in the media and make themselves look better. He changed the venue for transparency so everyone could see how it went.

And it went well, he’s still got it.
"Those who produce should have, but we know that those who produce the most — that is, those who work hardest, and at the most difficult and most menial tasks, have the least."
    - Eugene V. Debs (1855-1926), five-time Socialist Party candidate for U.S. President

I read somewhere that the settlement he received wasn't really a lot of money and he has to split it with Eric Reed and their legal representation.
